DataFence acts as the security function for its clients: the appointed CISO, the privacy lead, the programme manager for certification, and the first call when something goes wrong.

Our clients range from high-growth SaaS companies facing their first enterprise security review to regulated financial-sector organisations, healthcare providers, academic institutions and critical-infrastructure operators. We deliver in Israel, the EU, the UK and the US.
DataFence is led by its founder, Salo Pomerantz, who has served as an appointed information security officer and virtual CISO since 2007 and as a senior ISO 27001 lead auditor for the Standards Institution of Israel since 2018. Today he leads a team of 10 consultants and specialists, with 50 active client programmes and more than 90 organisations engaged since inception.

Salo founded DataFence and leads it as CEO. Since 2007 he has personally served as the appointed information security officer and virtual CISO for organisations across finance, defence, fintech, health-tech, academia and the non-profit sector. He holds these roles concurrently and on a retained basis. He is a senior ISO 27001 lead auditor for the Standards Institution of Israel (SII), certifying organisations against ISO 27001 and related standards, which gives clients an auditor's understanding of what certification really requires. Before DataFence, Salo spent seven years as Head of Systems, CISO and Privacy Officer at a business-information company serving Israel's financial sector. There he led infrastructure, security and compliance projects for thousands of users and successfully passed audits by SII and the Israeli Ministry of Justice. Earlier roles include Tmura Insurance Agency and Reuters.
